Richard Giles

CHAIR OF THE ADVISORY BOARD

Board member responsible for:

Richard is originally from Gloucestershire, the oldest of four brothers. Whilst mainstream education suited him most of the time, Richard has family and friends for whom it didn’t. Therefore, Richard is aware of the importance of having good alternative education provisions. Richard gained his professional qualifications in accountancy as a mature student, after he married and had his first child. Following his graduation, Richard then worked at a local accountancy firm, with much of his work focussing on helping charities. Richard moved to North Lincolnshire 25 years ago with his family, where he continued his role as an accountant; however, his current work duties also include Human Resources, Health and Safety, Legislation Compliance, and basic IT support. As a father and grandfather, Richard recognises how essential the right educational support and life-skills training can be, especially in their early years. Richard feels privileged to be a ‘critical friend’ to Pledge2Learn and to have the opportunity to use his skill set to help them maintain and if possible improve on the high standards of students they care for. Richard shares Pledge2Learn’s vision for helping to develop their student’s skills and abilities both now and for their potential in the future.
