Owen Want, BA (Hons)

LEARNING FACILITATOR

Owen has a first-class honours degree in Social Sciences, which he completed through the University of Lincoln. Owen completed this as a mature student because he held an interest in developing a better understanding of how society functions and how our circumstances impact our life opportunities. 

On a personal note, Owen has a child who has learning and development difficulties that has led him to take an interest in how to support her special needs. Initially, Owen volunteered at The Forge Project Scunthorpe (which provides support for the homeless) and Family Foundations before volunteering at Pledge2Learn. 18 months ago Owen started working full time at Pledge2Learn. 

Owen has developed an empathy for students who need social and emotional support and draws on his life experiences during his teaching. In his down time, Owen has begun taking guitar lessons and also enjoys all types of music.
