Louise – DIRECTOR FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING

Louise has worked in secondary education for 27 years. Having graduated from university with a combined honours degree in History and English, Louise completed her PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education) at Hull University. Initially working at Sir John Nelthorpe School in North Lincolnshire as a History teacher, then relocating to work in schools in North East Lincolnshire in a leadership capacity.  Whilst there, Louise also worked with a range of senior colleagues from schools across the region as part of a Behaviour and Attendance Collaborative. The aim of this organisation was to place students in educational provisions who had either been permanently excluded or were failing in their current school. This role provided Louise with an invaluable insight into the needs of young people for whom mainstream schools did not meet their needs.

In 2015 Louise was appointed as Headteacher to a school in East Riding and remained in this role for 3 years before retraining in Educational Psychology, completing her Master’s Degree at The University of York. Louise now specialises in the education of children with behaviour and learning difficulties, particularly those with dyslexia, for which Louise is qualified to assess and provide specialist intervention.
