Looked-after and previously looked-after children
Many looked-after and previously looked-after children have suffered disrupted learning, may have missed extended periods of school, and some may have special educational needs (SEN).
The percentage of looked-after children who are pupils in North Lincolnshire and who have a statement of SEN or an EHC Plan is 24.2%; this is compared to National average of 27.3% (2018-19). Attainment data (national and local) for looked-after and previously looked-after children shows that some do not perform as well at Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4 when compared to non-looked-after children.
Designated teacher for looked-after and previously looked-after children
Pledge2Learn recognise that these gaps in learning and, in many cases the emotional impact of experiences, are likely to have become significant barriers to young people's progress. We have in place a Designated Teacher with responsibility for looked-after and previously looked-after young people.
